Summary

Airway inflammation in allergic rhinitis patients (ARP) with and without bronchial hyperreactivity (BHR) was assessed using fiberoptic bronchoscopy. Findings suggest BHR in ARP may stem from factors beyond airway inflammation.

    • Bronchial hyperreactivity in allergic rhinitis patients may be attributed to mechanisms other than direct airway inflammation.
    • Further research is needed to elucidate the underlying causes of bronchial hyperreactivity in allergic rhinitis.
