Summary
Quinagolide effectively lowered high prolactin (PRL) levels in a patient with invasive prolactinoma. Treatment also shifted PRL isoforms towards a more basic profile, resembling normal physiological states.
Area of Science:
- Endocrinology
- Reproductive Medicine
Background:
- Prolactin (PRL) exists in various molecular weight forms.
- Isoelectric focusing (IEF) profiles of PRL variants differ in physiological and pathological states.
