Abstract:
1. Impoverished and homeless women are prone to coping with life stresses through drug and alcohol use. 2. Visual coping scenarios are culturally sensitive strategies to help impoverished minority women discuss effective coping responses. 3. A visual coping scenario redirects attention from a negative emotional event to an effective problem-focused coping strategy.
