Area of Science:

  • Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Perinatology
  • Maternal-Fetal Medicine

Background:

  • Preterm labor and uterine contractions pose significant risks to maternal and infant health.
  • Tocolysis aims to inhibit uterine contractions and prolong gestation, allowing for fetal maturation and transfer to specialized centers.
  • The efficacy of oral maintenance tocolysis following intravenous administration remains a critical area of investigation.
