    Area of Science:

    • Pediatric Gastroenterology
    • Rheumatology
    • Dermatology

    Background:

    • Behçet's syndrome is a rare multisystemic inflammatory disorder.
    • Anal complications are an uncommon manifestation, particularly in pediatric cases.

    Observation:

    • A 12-year-old male presented with multiple anal ulcers and polypoid proliferations.
    • Initial treatment with operative intervention and local steroids was ineffective.

    Findings:

    • Systemic administration of steroid hormone led to significant improvement and near-complete healing of anal ulcers.
    • The patient achieved remission with gradual tapering and cessation of steroid therapy, showing no signs of recurrence.

    Implications:

    • This case highlights anal ulcer as a potential, albeit rare, complication of Behçet's syndrome in pediatric patients.
    • Systemic corticosteroids appear to be an effective treatment modality for managing this specific anal manifestation.
