Background:

  • To identify pathognomonic symptoms for diagnosing peripapillary geographic choriopathy (PGC).
  • To assess the incidence and types of complications associated with PGC.
  • To confirm the nontuberculous etiology of PGC.

  • Clinical examinations of 179 patients diagnosed with peripapillary geographic choriopathy (PGC).
  • Ophthalmoscopic evaluation to identify characteristic fundus lesions.
  • Analysis of patient data to determine disease characteristics and complications.

Main Results:

  • Peripapillary landscape-like foci involving the macula and periphery were identified as pathognomonic for PGC.
  • Diagnosis of PGC without additional examinations was possible in over 90% of patients based on these foci.
