Purpose of the Study:

  • To determine if the contrast of spectral components in the retinal image specifies ocular focus.
  • To investigate if spectral contrast controls reflex accommodation.

  • Eight subjects viewed targets at varying distances (0, 2.5, 5 D) using a Badal optometer.
  • Experiments were conducted with normal and reversed longitudinal chromatic aberration (LCA) and monochromatic light.
  • Accommodation was continuously monitored during static and dynamic visual tasks.
