The pelvic stabilizer can be used in the resuscitation phase to control hemorrhage, stabilize fractures, and allow more time to provide definitive care. Eventually the success of long-term rehabilitation will be affected by the incidence and severity of complications associated with excessive blood loss and the problem associated with an injured pelvis.
