[Microsurgical tissue autotransplantation in the treatment of postburn deformations, neck and limb contractures]

Microsurgical tissue autotransplantation was used in 133 patients with postburn neck and extremities deformation and contractures. The free nonstretched vascularized scapular, deltoid and thoracodorsal flaps were used in 93 patients with scarring deformations and contractures of the neck. The free stretched scapular flaps on the microvascular anastomoses were used in 30 patients. The stretched and nonstretched flaps can be used successfully for correction of extensive neck and upper extremities scarring deformations and contractures. Good functional and cosmetic results were achieved in 88.7% cases.
