Massive health cuts Carrpeted Nurses "get it right"

Monday 1 July marked yet another memorable day in the history of the Nurses' Association. Only 11 days after the horrendous health cuts were announced, Premier Carr announced that the 'cornerstone' of the Government's plan, the St Vincent's Hospital merger with St George Hospital, would not proceed. The decision came in the aftermath of Association stop-work meetings and public rallies in hospitals across Sydney, including St George, Westmead, St Vincent's, Manly, Mona Vale, Concord, Rachel Forster, Royal Prince Alfred, Neringah, Mt Druitt and many others.
