  • Oncology
  • Thoracic Surgery

Background:

  • Hyperparathyroidism and thymoma are rare co-occurring conditions.
  • Myasthenia gravis is often associated with thymoma but not universally present.

Observation:

  • A 50-year-old woman presented with noninvasive thymoma and hyperparathyroidism.
  • She did not exhibit symptoms of myasthenia gravis, unlike previous reported cases.

Findings:

  • The patient underwent successful thymectomy and resection of a parathyroid adenoma.
  • Post-surgery follow-up over two years showed no evidence of disease recurrence.

Implications:

  • This case highlights the variable clinical presentation of thymoma-associated hyperparathyroidism.
