    Background:

    • Actin polymers form the thin filaments of muscle.
    • Actin polymers are known to be polarized, exhibiting a directional characteristic.

    • To experimentally determine if actin polymer formation proceeds unidirectionally or bidirectionally.
    • To investigate the directionality of actin polymerization using decorated actin fragments as initiation centers.

    • Preparation of short, fully HMM-decorated actin polymer fragments.
