Abstract:
Mutants were characterized as to their morphology, auxotrophy and cellulase production. No apparent correlation was evident among these characters. The degree of repression or enhancement of the three components of the cellulase enzyme in the mutants varied considerably, indicating their separate genetic control. Considerable variations in the enzyme profiles of the mutants were observed as compared to the wild type. Enzyme production was also found to be related to development.
