Summary

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) symptoms are not caused by Entamoeba histolytica infection. Non-dysenteric amebic colitis is an inappropriate term for IBS patients with nonpathogenic ameba, preventing unnecessary anti-amebic drug treatment.
