Surgical treatment of sphincteric incontinence in women

There are many surgical options to correct sphincteric incontinence. The choice should take account of clinical features, urodynamic data and operation characteristics. Success should be evaluated both subjectively and objectively and it is desirable to have at least a two year follow-up. It is necessary to be aware of the complications of each procedure. Where new techniques are described it is important to use objective outcome measures.
