[Problems in evaluating the long-term effect of antihypertensive drugs: once again: the trough/peak ratio]

For the description of the duration of the antihypertensive effect of a drug the term "trough/peak ratio" was introduced. For many drugs corresponding values were published. Because of different methodologies used these values can not be compared directly. Therefore the pharmacokinetic half-life of a drug is-at least today-the more reliable parameter.
