Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate variations in the prevalence of prolonged QT intervals using different common definitions in a large, non-hospitalized population.
  • To compare findings with other studies using identical definitions and measurement techniques.

  • Analysis of ECG data from 2,200 men and 3,366 women (aged >=55) in the Rotterdam Study.
  • QT intervals were computed using the Modular ECG Analysis System (MEANS).
