Abstract:
Plasma membranes separated and purified from rat cerebral cortex and cerebellum showed varying protein profiles on SDS-PAGE scanning densitometry. Using highly sensitive two-dimensional gel electrophoresis these proteins were further resolved and an apparent regional heterogeneity of plasma membrane associated proteins was demonstrated. These proteins might be involved in region specific structural and functional aspects in the brain.
