Background:

  • Diffuse fasciitis with eosinophilia-Shulman's syndrome (DF) is a rare connective tissue disorder.
  • A potential link between Borrelia burgdorferi infection and DF has been occasionally reported.

Observation:

  • A case of DF in a 25-year-old male is presented.
  • Patient history and laboratory data suggested Borrelia burgdorferi infection as the inciting agent.
  • Microscopic and PCR analyses of lesional tissue were negative for spirochetes post-antibiotic treatment.
