99mTc-labeled teboroxime SPECT is a faster alternative for detecting coronary artery disease compared to 201Tl SPECT. This myocardial perfusion imaging technique offers similar accuracy and can be used with standard equipment.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate treadmill exercise 99mTc-labeled teboroxime SPECT using single-detector systems for coronary artery disease detection.
  • To compare its efficacy and speed against 201Tl-labeled imaging.

  • 108 patients underwent treadmill exercise 99mTc-labeled teboroxime SPECT and 201Tl-labeled imaging.
  • Myocardial segments were scored for tracer uptake during stress and rest (teboroxime) or after redistribution (201Tl).
  • Comparison with coronary angiography in 56 patients to assess detection of coronary artery disease.
