Abstract:
A brief history of why the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was created and the purpose of OSHA is provided. Both employee and employer rights and responsibilities are discussed briefly. The process for enacting standards intended to protect employees is described followed by a detailed discussion of OSHA's standard, which relates directly to the practice of intravenous nurses.
