Summary

The Xomed Audiant Bone Conductor and NobleBiocare bone-anchored hearing aid (BAHA) offer similar amplification for hearing loss. Neither device provides superior gain for patients with significant sensorineural hearing loss.

Bone-anchored hearing aids (BAHA) are used for hearing loss.
Percutaneous coupling may offer greater energy transduction than transcutaneous coupling.

Compare amplification efficacy of Xomed Audiant Bone Conductor and NobleBiocare HC200 BAHA.
Evaluate potential benefits of percutaneous vs. transcutaneous coupling for hearing loss.

Retrospective comparison of aided sound-field thresholds to bone-conduction thresholds.
Analysis focused on speech frequencies.
