A case of camptocormia occurring in psychotherapy
Abstract:
Although camptocormia has been known to be a functional symptom since its first description in 1837, there has been little opportunity to study the psychodynamics of this symptoms. The author describes the development of this symptom in a patient who had been in psychotherapy for 3 1/2 years and explores the meaning of the symptom for this patient. The author makes suggestions as to proper therapeutic management of patients with this symptom.
