The development of the BSc (Hons) health sciences for complementary medicine

This article sets out the history of the development of the degree and the processes involved. It will explain the expertise and knowledge gained during the years prior to the development which led to the chosen format of the course. Universities have a rigorous system for validating courses in order to ascertain that their academic content meets national standards of quality and expertise. This article will acquaint people with the cycle of events which led to the University of Central Lancashire's validation of this degree. It will explain the work of the Course Development Committee, as well as describing and analysing the structure and content of the degree. The present student body will be analyzed and the expected progression routes and pathways will be elaborated upon. Future developments and commitments will be explained and discussed and questions will be encouraged.
