[The art of delivering a lecture. Thoughts at a Scandinavian congress]

During a Nordic scientific meeting 29 lectures were evaluated according to the written instructions about how to present a paper. Three speakers (10 per cent) were able to fulfil all rules. Nordic Conferences should continue to be a forum, where young scientists are invited to present their work but senior co-authors are advised to give better instructions about the art of oral presentation.
