[Problems in the therapeutic approach in anorectal trauma]

Even though rectal trauma is not frequent, the clinical course is difficult and unpredictable because of the septic content and anatomical position of the rectum (which is surrounded by a fat atmosphere with a weak capacity of immunological deference). During 12 years (1986-1996) in County Hospital Baia Mare 8 rectal trauma were treated with 1 death (12.6% mortality).
