Abstract:
In the present report, the arrangement of the milk-duct system of one quarter of the bovine udder has been investigated using a corrosion preparation. In general, the observations revealed the following remarkable principles of construction: 1. The milk ducts branched out into parallel plains; 2. The manner of the extension of the milk ducts was similar in the whole system; and 3. Narrow elements alternated with sinus-like parts. The same patterns occurred permanently in all levels of magnification. Thus, it was realized that the principle of the self-similarity, which puts the chaos of various forms in an order at a higher level.
