Abstract:
Tracheocutaneous fistulas (TCF) occasionally follow pediatric tracheotomy decannulation, often requiring surgical treatment. Complications of TCF closure are infrequent, but may include development of a cervical aerocele. A case of cervical aerocele after TCF closure is described. Based on our experience with this problem, we offer guidelines for care of TCFs.
