Abstract:
Eighteen patients suffering from polycystic lipomembranous osteodysplasia with sclerosing leukoencephalopathy were examined with Benton's Visual Retention Test (BVRT, form C, administration A). Both the scoring system for correct reproductions (CR) and that for specific errors (SE) were used. The stage of patients' dementia was also diagnosed with a neuropsychiatric follow-up study. The impairment of the patients' result in BVRT correlated with the severity of their dementia. There were high correlation coefficients between the stage of clinical dementia and the differences in CR and SE.
