Bur guide surgical template for implant placement in grafted jaws

This article describes the fabrication of a bur guide surgical template for implant placement in grafted jaws. This surgical template makes use of the disposable titanium implant mounts packaged for implant insertion. The bur guide allows not only for communication of the implant position but for its ideal trajectory as well. It is applicable in cases where adequate bone volume for implant placement is expected, for example, following autogenous bone grafting.
