Abstract:
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) offers a global view of the bone marrow and facilitates the understanding of disease progression and the remission of hematologic malignancies. Marrow MRI is an important tool for accurate diagnosis, monitoring of disease extent, and evaluation of treatment response. MRI functions as an adjunct to bone marrow aspiration and biopsy. Furthermore, abnormal imaging on marrow MR may predict poor prognosis in patients with primary marrow disorders.
