[The value of GnRH agonist treatments before hysteroscopic septum dissection]

In a retrospective study was investigated, whether a GnRH-analogue-pre-treatment has advantages during the hysteroscopic septum dissection in infertile and sterile patients with a uterus septus. The results show, that a GnRH-analogue-pre-treatment has no positive effect on intraoperative data (time of surgery, fluid deficit), the rate of complications, the postoperative anatomical results (residual septus) and the pregnancy rate. A GnRH-analogue-pre-treatment for a hysteroscopic septum dissection is not generally necessary. The surgery should be carried out in the proliferative phase of the menstrual cycle.
