EPFFECT OF PROPRanolol on plasma renin level and angiotensin sensitivity in man
Abstract:
The effect of 160 mg oral propranolol daily for a week on angiotensin sensitivity and plasma renin activity has been studied in ten patients with Kaplan's test and by determining renin with the radioimmunoassay. Propranolol was found to increase angiotensin activity and to reduce the plasma renin level. The results are compared with the respective effects of other antihypertensive drugs tested under identical conditions.
