Abstract:
Efficacy of local therapy with copper laser was tried in 105 patients with drug-resistant gastric ulcers. The exposure to yellow-green light each other day brought about scarring of the defects for 15.4 +/- 2.0 days, on the average. In the two-times a week regimen the healing was reached for 24.1 +/- 2.3 days. Separate use of yellow and green light proved highly effective, 42.5% of patients were in remission for 5 years. Frequency of the exacerbation before the treatment and duration of the remission were unrelated. Not a single case of malignant transformation of the ulcer was registered.
