Re-breathing vs single-breath TLCO in patients with unequal ventilation and diffusion

The single-breath (SB) method for measuring carbon monoxide transfer factor (TLCO) is less reliable in COPD patients due to ventilation inequalities. The rebreathing (RB) method provides a more accurate assessment of diffusion disorders in these patients.
