Cryosupernatant may be a suitable alternative to fresh frozen plasma (FFP) for patients with thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura refractory to FFP treatment. Group AB cryosupernatant offers the lowest von Willebrand factor antigen levels and universal ABO compatibility.
