  • To investigate the independent association between post-stroke depression and impairment in activities of daily living (ADL).

  • Cross-sectional analysis of 626 stroke patients from the Stroke Data Bank.
  • Assessed depression using the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale (CES-D).
  • Measured ADL using the Barthel Index at 7-10 days post-stroke.
