Summary

Low levels of interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1ra) in prostatic fluid do not appear to cause prolonged nonbacterial prostatitis (NBP). Prostatic fluid analysis revealed insufficient evidence to support this hypothesis in NBP patients.
