    Summary

    Multiple sclerosis patients showed decreased linoleate levels in lymphocytes. Lymphocyte linoleate levels correlated with plasma linoleate in humans and rats.

    Background:

    • Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory disease of the central nervous system.
    • Alterations in lipid metabolism and fatty acid composition have been implicated in the pathogenesis of MS.
