Interhemispheric lipoma associated with subcutaneous lipoma

Background:

Intracranial lipomas are rare congenital tumors originating from ectopic adipose tissue.
Association with other central nervous system malformations can occur, though infrequently.
Diagnosis often relies on advanced neuroimaging techniques.

Observation:

A case of coexisting intracranial and subcutaneous lipoma on the anterior fontanelle is presented.
Ultrasonography of the subcutaneous lesion led to the incidental diagnosis of the intracranial lipoma.
Computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) delineated the extent of both lesions and associated malformations.

Findings:

The intracranial lipoma was interhemispheric, extending into the choroid plexus.
