Background:

  • A French Caribbean patient with PXE exhibited extensive acneiform skin lesions with transepidermal elimination.
  • This patient also presented with multivisceral calcifications solely associated with hyperphosphatemia.

Findings:

  • The case demonstrates a potential link between hyperphosphatemia and the development of visceral calcifications in PXE.
  • Transepidermal elimination of elastic fibers may be a feature in some PXE presentations.
