[Present status of the health care system]

Characteristic feature of the aggression to BiH are attacks to medical facilities, equipment and staff, as well as to the patients in hospitals. All international conventions were broken, as well as all elementary human rights. Organisation of the work in all medical institutions was spontaneous. Nevertheless, continuity and availability of health care delivery was satisfactory. Many governmental and non-governmental organizations have helped health care system during the war. During the war number of health care institutions increased for several reasons: a) founding 86 points of humanitarian organizations; b) founding 19 temporary hospitals; c) founding new 14 homes of health. Due to war destruction, it is necessary to determine the priorities in sanation of certain segments of health care system.
