Abstract:
A procedure for colostomising birds from 3 weeks to 5 months of age is described. 2. A plastic cannula was inserted into the fistula 10 d after surgery to keep it open. 3. Provided that the cannula was changed regularly at 10-d intervals there was no constipation or dilation of the intestine.
