Abstract:
Respiratory quotients and enzyme activity were determined in yeast cultures of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Kluyveromyces sp., both suspended and immobilized on acrylonitrile fibers. Immobilization induced changes in the cell metabolism resulting in activation of the basic metabolic pathway of the given type of yeast cells.
