Background:

Linear IgA disease is an acquired bullous dermatosis defined by linear IgA deposition at the dermal-epidermal junction.

A patient with ulcerative colitis presented with a blistering skin rash.
The patient's cutaneous eruption was diagnosed as linear IgA disease.

This case highlights a rare co-occurrence of ulcerative colitis and linear IgA disease.
The findings suggest a potential link between gastrointestinal inflammation and autoimmune skin conditions.

Implications:

Foreign antigens from the inflamed bowel may induce autoantibodies that cross-react with skin antigens.
