The lipid composition of cattle sebaceous glands: a comparison with skin surface lipid
Research in Veterinary Science
|September 1, 1976
Abstract:
The lipid composition of isolated sebaceous glands from Ayrshire calves was compared with that of freshly secreted skin surface lipid. The sebaceous gland contained a higher proportion of phospholipid and unesterified fatty acid and a lower proportion of triglyceride; otherwise there was little difference in lipid composition between samples from the gland and the skin surface.
