Measuring tear immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels can help diagnose allergic conjunctivitis. Elevated tear IgE concentrations were observed in patients with seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, perennial allergic conjunctivitis, and vernal keratoconjunctivitis compared to controls.
