Background:

  • The persistent primitive olfactory artery arises from the internal carotid artery and can form the distal anterior cerebral artery (variant 1) or the ethmoidal artery (variant 2).
  • Of the seven cases, four were associated with saccular aneurysms, with aneurysms in variant 1 located at the hairpin curve.
