[The use of osteosynthesis in fractures of acetabular fossa]
Abstract:
The experience of operative treatment of 56 injured persons with the acetabular fossa fracture was summarized. The intraarticulational fracture with the fragments shift in more than 3 mm is an indication for the operation conduction. An optimal terms are the fourth-seventh days. Osteosynthesis was conducted using inguinal-iliacal, direct lateral iliacal-femoral approaches or Kocher-Langenbeck's incision. Cortical and spongy screws, narrow and reconstructive plates were used for fixation. Good result was noted in 84.5% of patients, fair-in 12.5%, poor-in 3%.

Fractures: Bone Repair
Minor fractures with no bone displacement are treated by immobilizing the fractured bone using a cast or splint. However, in the case of fractures with displaced bones, the broken bones are repositioned before immobilization to ensure successful healing without deformation and loss of function. The realignment of fractured bone ends is performed through a process called reduction. If the procedure...
