Impaired sensorimotor gating in patients with non-epileptic seizures

Patients with non-epileptic seizures (NES) show impaired sensorimotor gating, measured by prepulse inhibition (PPI). This deficit is more pronounced in unmedicated individuals and may be linked to anxiety and limbic-basal ganglia circuitry abnormalities.
